Because of scheduling conflicts, I have had to change the times and days for both Waterloo and Watertown classes. Waterloo classes will now be on Monday nights from 4-7 and Watertown classes will be on Thursday nights also from 4-7.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. I hope to see you all in the fall!

Hello everybody!
The summer is flying by, I can’t believe it is already July! I am excited to be having two summer dance camps this year for two different age groups. They include dance, games, activities, crafts, storytime, a tea party, snacks, and a mini-recital for friends and family.
“I’m A Ballerina”
Does your preschooler dream of being a ballerina? This camp will help that dream come true. Welcome to children ages 3-5. This camp will be from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Monday-Friday.
“Dancin’ Like A Star”
This camp is open to any child wanting to explore the world of dance and many of its styles such as ballet, broadway, jazz, and hip hop. Welcome to children ages 5 and up. This camp will be from 10:30-12:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Camps will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown (August 2nd-13th).

Miss Leah sure enjoyed working with the girls at our Summer Dance Camp! The little ones (ages 3-5) had fun making fairy wands, crowns, paper ballerina chains, and Little Mermaid caverns.
Our older dancers had fun making two friendship bracelets – one to keep and one to give away to a new friend at camp. They also made cute denim purses, and were very busy being artists painting our background scenery of the beach and palm trees.
All of the dancers also enjoyed some fun treats like strawberry smoothies, s’mores, homeade cookies and apples, peanut butter, and marshmallows that made them look like they had funny teeth!
With our beach and Hawaiian theme, all of the dancers learned to do the hula. They learned that in Hawaii, doing the hula is really dancing a story. Our little girls danced and sang to the song “Pearly Shells.” They also learned classical ballet steps to the Little Mermaid song “Part of Your World.” They were so cute onstage with their hula skirts and leis and cute singing voices!
Our older class learned their songs very quickly and kept Miss Leah on her toes!
They learned their Hawaiian hula song “The Hukilau” on the very first day! So, Miss Leah challenged them with a pretty difficult jazz/hip hop song which was a fun, fast version of Elvis Presley‘s “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” which was featured in the movie “Lilo and Stitch.” Once they got that down, Miss Leah added one more ballet song for them to work on, the Beach Boys‘ ”Surfer Girl.” They did an amazing job on all three songs at our Summer Dance Camp Recital!
We had so much fun with you girls and hope to see you all in the fall!!

Princess Dance Camp (3-5 year olds) — $95
10:30 a.m. – noon, Monday-Friday
During this fun, two-week princess camp, dancers will hear fairytales and learn classical ballet techniques to songs that go with the stories. After dance class, campers will enjoy a snack and will then make art projects that all princesses will love — like fairy wands and tiaras! The cost includes snacks and art supplies. On the final day of camp, the dancers will put on a delightful princess performance onstage for family and friends.
Summer Dance Camp – (6 years and older) — $95
1:00 – 2:30 p.m., Monday – Friday
During this fun, two-week camp, dancers will experience a “sampler” of all kinds of dancing styles. They will learn classical ballet techniques, dance with grass skirts and leis to Hawaiian music, and will have fun learning jazz and hip hop too! The camp also includes snacks and fun art projects such as friendship bracelets and purses, and; of course, an awesome performance onstage at the end of the camp for family and friends.
Additional Information:
There will be no additional cost for the performance or costumes. Costumes will either be provided by us, or we’ll be using simple items the dancers can bring from home.
Miss Leah prefers the dancers wear leotards, tights, and pink leather ballet shoes, if at all possible. However, since it is just a two-week camp, socks and comfortable clothing are okay.
Classes will be held in the Immanuel Lutheran Church basement located at 204 N. 10th Street, Watertown (use the handicapped entrance.) Registration forms will be mailed to you, and payment will be due on the first day of camp. To sign up or for more information, email or call Miss Leah at leahpaape@gmail.com or call at (920) 253-7591 or (920) 478-2045.
If you have a special needs child, please contact Miss Leah for the possibility of a special needs scholarship.
We are looking forward to a great summer camp with your young dancers and artists!!!
And we hope you dance too,
Miss Leah and Kris

Well, today is a bittersweet day – the last day I will post on the blog – for awhile. So let’s enjoy the final bow again from the recital just one last time. After watching it, it made me want to be with those dancers all over again! They are such a joy! Thank you, once again, for sharing them with us!
And here is the information for Miss Leah’s summer dance camps. They will be held in the Immanuel Lutheran Church basement located at 204 N. 10th Street, Watertown (use the handicapped entrance). We hope to see many of you there!

They say pictures are worth a thousand words, right? So, today I won’t say a thing. I’ll just let the pictures do all the talking!

I hope you dance, too!

Words could never express how well I thought last night’s show went! I hope you enjoyed the show as much as these dancers and I did. What a privilege it was for me to be backstage with the girls (yes, I was the curtain puller!) watching their faces literally light up with excitement for getting on that stage!
Here are a few shots I got of them before they went on.

Again, words cannot express how excited these girls were to perform for their family and friends! What a feeling – and what a great experience!
I also cheated (a little) and took a few pictures of the girls dancing from backstage – I thought it would be fun for you to see what it looked like from my angle.

Beautiful!

Gorgeous!

Sweet!

And how precious were these little Tinkerbells??
Truly, can it get any better than this??
GREAT JOB, DANCERS!!
I amVERY proud of you!!!! XXXXOOOO
~Miss Leah
I hope you dance too,
Kris
P.S. Watch the Watertown Daily Times for pictures and an article of last night’s performance, and stay tuned close to this website for many more days of great recital pictures — we have a lot of them!!!

We’re less than five hours away from the Fairytale Ballet Spring Recital and Tea Party! Parents, please feel free to bring your cameras and camcorders to record tonight’s performances. We can’t wait to see you there!

After weeks of hard work and practice, our dancers are ready to shine in the spotlight! At tonight’s dress rehearsal, the dancers ran through their dances a few last times and learned to take their bows. Now they wait until tomorrow when the curtain opens again and they dance for their family and friends. Thank you for all your support; we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday evening!
At the recital, there will be photographs of the dancers available for purchase, as well as flowers for your favorite dancer. All proceeds will go toward Miss Leah’s scholarship fund for dancers with special needs. Refreshments will be served after the recital, with the dancers seated at a special Fairytale Ballet head table. The best treat of all, though, will be watching these girls dance!
